There are two main ways to export used trucks from Japan. One is to export the used truck as it is, and the other is to disassemble and export it as a parts.
For the dismantlement there are also 2 methods: as a cabin cut or also dismantleling all the parts.
We will introduce each export method and dismantling procedure.

Two ways to export used trucks
For container ships
When exporting used trucks from Japan, one way is disassembling and transporting them as parts on a shipping container. This method has the advantage of reducing transportation costs. (The two types of dismantling methods will be explained later.)
Regarding transportation costs, bellow there is an example of transportation to the Philippines.
RORO : JPY 336,000 (1 x10t truck)
40ft container: JPY 128,700 (for 3 x10t trucks)
Also, in some countries there may be differences in tariffs between used cars and parts. From that point of view, this method may reduce costs significally.
Depending on the country, it may not be possible to import trucks as a vehicle due to import restrictions, but it may be possible to import as a parts. In such cases, the best method is to dismantle the used truck and export the parts by shipping container.
For RORO
We can send the truck uring RORO (vehicle without dismantle). The transportation cost is higher than shipping by container, but the advantage is that it can be used immediately after arrival.
Kaiho Industry can handle both!
We can arrange exports for both containers and RORO.
Please feel free to contact us and will arrange it according to your company’s needs.
In the case of dismantling all used trucks
Freon gas recovery, oil and fat recovery, airbag removal
Before dismantling a used truck, we first collect fluorocarbons and oils and grease. Then remove the airbag. This is a process stipulated by law.
Also, we remove the fuel tank for safety.
Cabin removal
Then we proceed to remove the cabin. Below the cabin is the engine.
Removal of the loading platform
Next, we remove the loading platform on the chassis. At that time, the metal fittings are cut with gas, being careful to do not burn the wood parts.
Removal of parts
Finally, we will remove all the rest of parts such as the engine, tool box, side lights, guards, etc. according to the customer’s request.

Cabin cut
We proceed to cut the cabin part together with the chassis. The engine is under the cabin, so the cabin cut will come with the engine.
In a 40FT container we can hold 3 x10t truck cabin cuts and the corresponding parts (front axle, rear axle, mission, tires, etc.).
In case of 2t truck cabin cut, it is possible to load 4 units and the corresponding parts.
